Our Authors

At Spark & Quill, our authors are the heart of everything we do.

Each writer brings a unique voice, perspective, and vision to the stories we publish. From sweeping romantasy adventures to intimate contemporary love stories, our authors create worlds where readers can fall in love again and again.

We are proud to work with storytellers who believe in the emotional power of romance, writers who craft characters that feel real, relationships that feel earned, and journeys that stay with readers long after the final page.

Below you’ll find the talented authors who make up the Spark & Quill family.

I.L. Jordan

Fantasy Romance • Romantasy • Adventure

I.L. Jordan is a first generation Cuban-American and lover of all things horror, the paranormal and dark romance. Growing up, she was the resident storyteller and comic relief. Since she was old enough to hold a pencil, she’s been writing twisted stories and poems.

She’s a wife and a proud mother of two energetic boys. She calls sunny Florida home where she embraces the dark with the light that life has to offer, one page at a time.

Alyssa Mullins

Vampires • Romantasy • Supernatural

Alyssa Mullins has been writing stories for as long as she can remember, though most of them stayed tucked away in notebooks and files never meant to see the light of day. Stake Me If I’m Wrong is the first one brave enough to demand its place in the world. She believes a good book should make you laugh at least once, break your heart just enough, and leave you wanting to read “just one more chapter” even at three in the morning.

Her writing routine usually involves a large cup of matcha, an open laptop, and music blasting. Sleep Token and Ethereal Treason have become the permanent soundtrack to her late-night writing sessions, a mix of haunting and powerful that keeps her characters alive in her head. More often than not, her fur babies are curled up at her feet, reminding her that sometimes the best stories come when you are surrounded by comfort.

When she is not writing, Alyssa spends time with her friends and family. She values family above all else. She is also doting on her daughter, who will be warned repeatedly to stay far away from this book until the day her mother gives her permission to read it. Life at home in Kentucky is full of chaos and love, and that balance often spills into her work.

Alyssa writes because stories have always been her way of making sense of the world. She believes that love can be both ridiculous and tender, that grief can sit beside humor, and that sometimes the best way to face the dark is to laugh right through it. She also hopes that anyone struggling will find a way to her stories and that something she has written gives them a reason to stay.

L.E. Sells

Raranormal/supernatural • Romantasy • Romance

L.E. Sells is an indie author with a passion (well, it's a borderline obsession) for writing delightfully smutty fictional romance in all forms. Particularly paranormal/supernatural romance and fantasy. She also loves writing contemporary fiction, but she can't seem to peel herself away from the monsters and the fairies to save her life.

Going to the Water was her debut historical fiction novel which she published in 2017; she had no idea what she was doing when she published this one. Like marketing? What's that?

Genesis is a Twilight Fanfiction novel that she completed in 2023 and is available on Archive of Our Own (AO3) and Fanfiction.net.

Kindred is her third novel to be re-published by the Jac Press romance imprint, Spark & Quill on June 30, 2026. Genetic vampires? Sure why not, let's just sprinkle in some biting and BDSM for funsies.

From the Ashes is a dark shifter fantasy-romance series co-written with author and voice actor, B. Steffens. Survive (published March 31, 2026) is the first of a four novel series with a prequel novella, Fight, which releases in September 2026.

L.E. Sells is a labor and delivery nurse of 15 years, which she loves, but there's not enough coffee in the world to keep up that job and write full time. But somehow she's managing. She lives in Northern California (yes there are beaches, no they are not as warm as LA or San Diego) with her two daughters (who are amazing) and husband (who is wondering if she'll ever get off the computer and hang out with him).
